Colonels Neck Mitigation Site

This 1.82-acre site in Brunswick County, North Carolina is adjacent to the Lockwood Folly River and was historically managed for loblolly pine on most of the uplands and drained wetland areas. The mitigation project on this site created a variety of community types such as headwater streams, wet savannas and river floodplains of varying vegetation. Green Trust Alliance has served as the long-term steward of this property since 2009.

ABOUT US >

Green Trust Alliance (GTA) is a nationally accredited land trust and public charity strongly dedicated to accelerating large scale conservation, preservation, and public lands access efforts in the Mid-Atlantic region. To accomplish this, we work with industry leaders, nonprofit partners, and public agencies to identify important public and private properties in our conservation focus areas. In these areas, we use a multi-scale, multi-project approach to create a suite of community and ecological benefits where people live, work, and play, and to ensure long-term active stewardship of these lands and parks.
