Green Trust Alliance (GTA) is a nonprofit conservation organization and accredited land trust dedicated to boldly building coastal resiliency, preserving and stewarding wildlife habitat, and enhancing public access in Mid-Atlantic communities. We focus on partnerships and innovative funding streams that accelerate large scale conservation, preservation and ecosystem restoration efforts. These large scale efforts help local shorelines, rivers, streams and vulnerable communities become more resilient in the face of a changing climate, help protect and preserve wildlife and aquatic habitat, reduce flooding, and steward and protect public access to our shared outdoor and water resources.
We believe that local waters, wetlands, and shorelines are community assets that should be healthy, accessible, and equitably beneficial for our region’s diverse coastal communities.
Accredited Land Trust
Since 2000, Green Trust Alliance has been working with conservation partners and landowners to restore and preserve parklands and other special places in the Mid-Atlantic region, preserving nearly 2,000 acres of wildlife habitat in three states.
In February 2023, achieved the national recognition of land trust accreditation through the Land Trust Accreditation Commission – joining a network of over 450 accredited land trusts across the nation that have demonstrated their commitment to professional excellence and to maintaining the public’s trust in land protection work.
